Advice For New Users

The "Square Root" of a number (or process) is the number (or process) which when multiplied by itself (or done twice) results in the number you first thought of.

In the real numbers, each positive number has two square roots, one positive and one negative. Zero only has a single square root, and negative numbers have no real square roots. To get square roots of negative numbers we need complex numbers.

If we move entirely to the complex numbers then every number (except zero) has exactly two square roots.
