Advice For New Users

Parallax is the apparent motion of a object due to the motion of the observer.

An object will appear to move as an observer changes its line of sight.

Nearer objects will appear to move more than more distant objects.

As the Earth transits its orbit around the Sun relatively near objects will appear to move due to parallax relative to the distant "fixed" stars. This is used by astronomers as a method of finding the distance to such objects.
