Advice For New Users

A Black Hole is a sufficiently massive and compact object such that its escape velocity is greater than the speed of light.

From a sufficiently close enough region, light (and therefore nothing else) can escape from the gravitational field of the Black Hole.

No Black Hole has ever been directly observed but it now seems that supermassive Black Holes exist at the centre of almost all Galaxies.
