Mathematical objects which are discrete can only take specific and separate values as opposed to those objects which are continuous which can take a range of values.

* Shoe size is a discrete variable whereas foot length is a continuous variable.

* Human age is a discrete variable (*) whereas Time live is a continuous variable.
